Letters Patent and By-law

The Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations signed letters patent on April 26, 1977, to create what was then the Ontario Municipal Retirees Organization (OMRO). The name was changed to the Municipal Retirees Organization Ontario (MROO) in 1991.

If you're interested in more detail about our procedures, you can consult our by-laws. By-law Number 7 was passed in 2023 (previous by-laws were repealed). It sets out many of the details of how MROO operates, including the election of the board of directors.
