About the Speakers: Jenn Findlay & Erin Arsenault

Jenn Findlay has been involved with Special Olympics Ontario for over 28 years, beginning as a dedicated community volunteer. Throughout her volunteer journey, she held a variety of roles that supported the growth and delivery of local sport opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities. More than 18 years ago, Jenn transitioned to staff as the District Developer for Southwestern Ontario, where she worked closely with volunteers to expand and strengthen community programming.

Since then, she has progressed through several leadership roles and now serves as Associate Director of Sport & Program. In her current role, Jenn oversees a broad provincial portfolio that includes Health initiatives, Sport and Competition, Major Games, Community Development, and program Resources. She is passionate about building inclusive sport pathways, supporting volunteer leaders, and creating meaningful opportunities for athletes across Ontario.

Erin Arsenault is the Director, People & Operations at Special Olympics Ontario, where she leads people and operations strategy and supports volunteer management and recruitment across a province-wide network of more than 23,000 athletes and 7,500 volunteers.

Erin’s connection to Special Olympics began as a volunteer at the 2012 Kingston Provincial Games, where she supported the Opening Eyes program. That experience left a lasting impact and strengthened her understanding of the power of community, inclusion, and sport, not only for the athletes, but for the volunteers who are equally shaped by the experience. With over a decade of experience in people-focused roles, Erin has supported individuals at many stages of their lives and careers, including those navigating retirement. She is passionate about helping people find purpose, build connections, and contribute in ways that are meaningful and impactful beyond the workplace.

About Special Olympics Ontario

For over 50 years, Special Olympics has grown from a modest program serving local athletes to become the world's largest movement dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion, and human dignity for people with intellectual disabilities through sport. Special Olympics Ontario has optimized the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle through sport to improve the well-being of individuals with an intellectual disability. We continue to improve and expand the quality, opportunity and accessibility of sport to individuals with an intellectual disability. Along with this, we strive to improve upon both the awareness and support of the community in regards to Special Olympics Ontario and those involved with us. As an organization, we work to ensure our volunteers are strongly committed to acting locally while thinking globally. Through these steps, we hope to continue to build upon the past success of the organization
