The highlight of the event will be our special guest speaker Dr. Angela Roberts, a leading researcher in aging and brain health at Western University in London.
Guest SpeakerAs we age, our brain health is critical in maintaining independence, quality of life, and meaningful social connections. But what if aging didn’t have to mean cognitive decline? Recent research explores SuperAging - a phenomenon in which some individuals maintain exceptional memory and cognitive function well into their 80s and beyond.
In this talk, Dr. Angela Roberts will delve into the science of SuperAging:
- The factors contributing to cognitive resilience and longevity.
- Lifestyle strategies backed by research that can help promote brain health, reduce dementia risk, and foster lifelong cognitive vitality.
- Practical, evidence-based strategies for fostering health span.
About the Guest Speaker: Dr. Angela Roberts

Dr. Angela Roberts is a leading researcher in aging and brain health at Western University, specializing in cognitive resilience and Parkinson’s disease and dementia interventions. She holds a joint appointment at Western University in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Department of Computer Science. She is the Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Data Analytics and Digital Health in Cognitive Aging and Dementia. As an expert in speech-language pathology, digital health technologies, and wearable sensors, her work explores innovative ways to assess and support brain health in older persons.
Dr. Roberts is at the forefront of the SuperAging Research Initiative, investigating why some individuals maintain exceptional cognitive abilities in later life. Her research examines the role of language, social engagement, and physical activity in promoting cognitive longevity, focusing on developing real-world strategies to enhance aging outcomes. Through her collaborations with clinical and community partners, she is dedicated to translating scientific discoveries into actionable interventions that support cognitive resilience and quality of life for aging populations.
