Remembrance Day
This Remembrance Day take the time to remember our fallen soldiers and give thanks to those who have given their lives to protect our beautiful and free country. To all the men and women who have served in both World War I, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War, and more recently in Afghanistan, Iraq and in numerous other locations around the world. We thank you for your service.

Here's what happening across Ontario this Remembrance Day 2025:

Toronto: Beginning this Wednesday (Nov 5) through Nov. 11, special commemorative projections will be displayed for free outside Old City Hall at 60 Queen St. W., nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The west facade will be illuminated with “a moving visual display, paying tribute to those who served — and to those who never returned home,” the City of Toronto said on its website. This will commemorate both the 80-year anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 100th anniversary of the Toronto Cenotaph at Old City Hall. Find more GTA events here.

Oakville: 3 Remembrance Day ceremonies in Oakville - The Bronte Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will host a walk from its location, a Remembrance Day parade to George’s Square will begin at the Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, and a Nov. 11 ceremony will also be held at Memorial Park at the Trafalgar Memorial from 10:50 a.m. to noon.

Hamilton: Nov. 7, 11:30 a.m. at Battlefield House Museum & Park, Eagles Among Us Monument at 77 King St. West in Stoney Creek. The City of Hamilton and Hamilton Police Services will gather to acknowledge and commemorate the contributions made by Indigenous Veterans in service to Turtle Island. Current and past Indigenous sacrifices will be honoured. The outdoor event will be followed by refreshments and snacks with an Indigenous flavour. Bring your own chair as seating is limited and reserved for Indigenous veterans and elders. Learn more.

Waterloo Region: There are a number of ceremonies, parades and moments of silence that will take place throughout the region and are open to the public. Events will take place in Cambridge, Elmira, Kitchener, Waterloo, Galt, Preston New Hamburger, and Hespeler. Learn More.
Ways to Give Back
Visit the Royal Canadian Legion’s online store at poppystore.ca to purchase a poppy-themed item. The proceeds support the Legion and Canada's Veterans. The Sunnybrook Veterans Centre will hold its annual Operation Raise a Flag fundraiser, in which thousands of small Canadian flags are planted outside the centre to show appreciation for its residents. Purchase a poppy at your local grocery store, bank, or coffee shop, or stop by an HSBC Bank Canada and use their poppy box to make a safe, secure, and easy donation with the touchless HSBC “Pay Tribute” tap-enabled donation boxes (via card). More information here.
