Seniors Day
October 1 of each year is National Seniors Day, which aligns with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) and is a day for all Canadians to celebrate the great contributions of seniors in our homes, communities and workplaces!

Flamborough Connects is Celebrating Seniors and Building Community this Fall
Seniors looking to stay safe, healthy and independent won’t want to miss the next free Seniors Education Session on. Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. at Flamborough Baptist Church, 41 Concession 5 Rd. E.
This month’s session will be led by the Hamilton Paramedics Community Team and will focus on practical health and safety tips, local resources and strategies for staying independent at home. It’s a great way to get valuable information and meet others in the community. Registration is open now by calling 905-689-7880 or emailing admin@flamboroughconnects.ca.
The Seniors Social Connection Program. It launches today (Sept. 23) at the Waterdown Legion and is a free monthly gathering that offers good food, fun games, engaging activities and meaningful conversation for older adults (55+) who are living on a low income and have limited opportunities for social engagement. It’s a welcoming space designed to bring people together
and create new friendships. The program runs one Tuesday each month from 12 to 2 p.m. Spots are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
For those who enjoy staying active in the comfort of their home, the popular VIRTUAL Wheel of Fitness exercise program is making its return! Beginning Oct. 6 at 10 a.m., this light exercise class will once again bring movement, laughter, and connection to older adults every Monday morning via Zoom.
