50th Anniversary Community Service Recognition Awards

Apply for MROO's 50th Anniversary Community Service Recognition Awards!

In 2027, MROO will turn 50 years old! To celebrate this milestone MROO is announcing a new program, the MROO Community Service Recognition Awards. Do you know a fellow MROO member who is going above and beyond and giving back in their community? Nominate them to be recognized by MROO and fellow members at our 2027 Annual Zone Meetings. There will be one award per Zone (9 Zones in total) - with each award winner receiving a $1,000 donation to the charity or not-for-profit organization of their choice.

Winners will be announced in Spring 2027 with a special award ceremony taking place in each Zone Meeting in 2027! If chosen, we will invite the recipient and a representative of the organization to attend the Zone Meeting and receive a cheque and award.

Nominate an exceptional fellow MROO Member today!  We are celebrating local MROO members making a real impact in their community.

 

Community Award Requirements to Apply:

  • Both the Nominator and the Member must reside in the Zone in which the nomination occurs. 

  • The volunteer work must occur in Ontario but may occur outside of their zone.

  • This volunteer work may not be part of their regular work or professional responsibilities.

  • Members cannot nominate themselves.

  • Must be currently actively volunteering and have been with that organization for a minimum of 3 (three) years. 

  • Members cannot be nominated posthumously 

Help us recognize those Members shaping and making a stronger and better community for everyone in Ontario!

 

How to Apply:

Your submission must include the following items: 

1. Your completed application form below.

2. A  one-page resume outlining your nominees community work.

3. A 500 or less word paragraph outlining your nominee's community work and accomplishments. Word or PDF document preferred.

 

Additional Criteria:

  • The Member must demonstrate leadership, dedication, and commitment to giving back in their community. 

  • The Member must be an advocate who has demonstrated their dedication to making positive changes in their community. 

  • The Member must exemplify altruism, honesty, and integrity while leading by example. 

  • Nominator will be asked to demonstrate why their nominee is deserving of this recognition in an essay of no more than 500 words.
