June is Seniors’ Month!

This June we celebrate seniors across Ontario for Seniors’ Month. As part of Seniors’ Month various events and activities will be taking place across the province for seniors. Find resources and information on Ontario.ca.

The provincial theme for Seniors Month in Ontario this year is Ontario Seniors — Let's Get Moving. This highlights programs and initiatives that promote wellness, active living, education, and social engagement for older adults

Looking for something fun to do in your area/city this month? Find a list of selected activities and events below. Check your local library or community centres for more events near you.

City of Barrie

  • Various 55+ Try It programs. Visit barrie.ca/SeniorsCentres for the schedule and activities information.
  • June 9th: Wills and Estate Planning Workshop
  • June 10th: Smile Theatre and Allandale 55+ Centre presents “Take the eh Train” a Canadian musical. Must register aheadParkview 55+ Giant Outdoor (Trunk) Garage Sale. Stop by this large community outdoor garage sale, open to all. Proceeds go to 55+ Parkview Centre. Rain or shine.

Uxbridge

  • The Township of Uxbridge is proud to celebrate Seniors Month by creating opportunities for residents to come together, stay active, learn new skills, and strengthen community connections. Throughout the month, residents can participate in a variety of activities, events, seminars and programs designed to encourage engagement, wellness, and fun. Find out more.

  • Town of Caledon is celebrating Senior’s Month with FREE events and activities for residents age 55+ in Caledon.
    - Still Life Drawing Workshop with PAMA – on June 1st
    - Breath + Sound: A Guided Wellness Experience – on June 8
    - Senior Care Days with Hills of Headwaters Collaborative – June 9

Georgina

  • June 5th: annual Seniors BBQ at Club 55 Keswick to celebrate June is Recreation and Seniors Month. This outdoor event will have Town Council Members and Staff cooking sausage and burgers on the BBQ and DJ Dave Jones playing great music. Purchase tickets in advance at Club 55 Keswick starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026. $12 per person. Cash, cheque, debit or credit card accepted. Ticket sales open to anyone 55 years of age and older and their guests (who can be under 55). Silent auction is cash only. 

 

Guelph

  • CMHA Waterloo Wellington is partnering with the Guelph Police Service to host a free public information session for seniors and caregivers focused on fraud and elder abuse prevention.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

  • Senior Citizen Strawberry Social:  Wednesday, June 24, 2026
    Time: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Lunch will be served at approximately 11:20 a.m.)
    Location: Main Auditorium, Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre (14 Anderson Lane)
    Registration: Required and limited. Register early, as spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register online or call 905-468-3266 ext. 0. If the event reaches capacity, participants can request to be added to the waitlist.

Belleville

  • June 2nd: Community Services Department is excited to host the 3rd annual Activities in Park event at West Zwick’s Park from 4 to 7 p.m. Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled time in one of Belleville’s beautiful parks as the community comes together to celebrate recreation, wellness and connection. Learn more here.

 

Northumberland

  • June 8th: Community Training and Development Centre and Northumberland YMCA are partnering on a June 8 event that will introduce local seniors to more than a few new ideas. Screening of Silvers Screamers at the Best Western Hotel Cobourg - followed by a free lunch at the YMCA. Time: 9:30AM-12:15PM. Burlington

  • Various events presented by Chartwell: June 18th - Silver Screamers at Cineplex

Milton

  • June 10th: 55+ Retirement and Lifestyle Fair. For 55+, enjoy a light lunch, programs, prizes and more. 10AM-1PM. Free event. 
  • June 18th: Movie screening of Silver Screamers. Popcorn and beverage included. Sponsored by Chartwell. 11:45AM-4:45PM. Cost - $10. 
  • June 30: Strawberry Social. Great music and treats. 1pm-2:15pm. $10 for members or $15 for non-members. Learn more.

 

Brampton

  • June 12: Adults aged 55+ are invited to a special event in honour of June is Senior's month. Visit the FREE expo to learn about community resources, programs and services available to seniors in our community. Then celebrate with us at the Springfest Luncheon! Enjoy great company and a joyful atmosphere with a catered luncheon, entertainment provided by a DJ, a photobooth and dancing. Register Here.

Kitchener

  • Various events will be taking place in Kitchener including June 24 - Join us for live music on the patio featuring Kevin Coates and The Interesting People.
  • June 25 - Join Rockway for a screening of The Green Bench, a Schlegel Villages documentary that shares the lived experience of older adult residents. Learn more.

     

Chatham-Kent

  • June 22nd at 6pm: The Chatham-Kent Public Library is marking Seniors’ Month in June with a free legal information session focused on real estate matters affecting older adults. Learn more.
